The longest frog

Life in the frog garden is good. As the longest day approached more and more frogs have returned to the ponds and it's lovely to see their little faces poking out of the water.

This very relaxed person seemed completely unphased by 'large idiot with camera' stamping about and remained obligingly still while I snapped him.

This was about ten o'clock last night as I was outside enjoying the solstice.

The night was still and beautiful and I was reminded of a haiku by Matsuo Basho called Old Pond. It's been translated to death but I like this one the best.

The old pond -
A frog jumps in,
sound of water.

Ah, serenity.
